Reflection.
Hello everyone!!
I really hope you and your families are well and in good health. The past few weeks have been really tough for everyone. We were obliged to change our everyday routines in order to save ourselves and our dear ones. Information about this matter is everywhere. We open the TV and the first thing that we hear in the morning is "Coronavirus". News don't even show the weather anymore. The only topic of discussion is related to it and sometimes it looks like we will never be able to return to our normal lives anymore. But I have a strong belief that we will, and it will be sooner than we all expected.
This week I have chosen to share my thoughts related to the positive outcomes this situation has brought. Even though I'm aware of the severe damage caused by it , according to all the lives that have been lost and the terror it has ignited among us. As a person that likes to view the glass half full I always like to find good things in every bad situation. Yes, this situation is difficult to cope with but let's remember how earth was before it.
We always were in a rush. We were in a rush to go to work, in a rush to take our kids to school and pick them up, in a rush to do the dishes, to spend time with our loved ones. We barely had a chance to stop and breathe and dedicate a moment to ourselves. We barely spent time with our grandparents, barely even visit them. We didn't have time to sleep, we didn't have time to love. We always texted on our way to somewhere and were most of the times busy when it came to family.
The earth was a polluted place. We never really took care of it the way we should have. The Ozone layer was badly damaged, and the air we breathed was so polluted that nearly half of the population had lung problems. If we take a look to the sky we can see it's finally clearing up again, and we can finally, after a long time take a deep breath of fresh and clean air.
Another good outcome oft this situation that benefits our health, is that we have switched to home cooked meals. We finally have the time to cook and eat our favourite foods at home. We finally have the time to enjoy lunch and dinner with our families.
We have the time in the world to read our favourite books all over again, or read the ones we started ages ago but we never had to time to continue. We have all the time in the world to watch our favourite Tv shows, or series, we have time to play with our younger siblings and time to write, time to sing, time to draw or time to learn a new language.
We have all the time in the world to spend with our grandparents, to take care of them, to learn and grow from their advises. We have the time to tell our loved ones how much we love them, we have time to grow fonder of one another. We have time for ourselves, to think and reflect about ourselves. We have time to construct a better version of us, in order to be kinder and better.
However the way you all view this, please take the time to slow down and get the rest you deserve. There are people that can't do this. You are one of the lucky ones. Take the chance to rethink of the choices you have made, take the chance to get the sleep you had been lacking of. Let you and the Earth restore your powers, so that when you start again, your new version of yourself is better.
Be safe and empty your mind from all the negative vibes. Tomorrow the sun will shine brighter.
Until the next time,

I totally agree this can be the break we never knew we need it to slow down and appreciate things more. Tough times never last but tough people do 😊
ReplyDeletei always enjoy reading your posts :)I would say that in such extraordinary situation whats the good of complaining about the fact that we must stay home and yes you are right when you say that there are people out there that don't have the luxury of staying safe at home .I am also certain that people would appreciate life more after all this will be over.
ReplyDeleteIt is weird that some things have changed for better because of this virus ,as you have mentioned the air pollution, the time we are spending with our family etc. I really enjoyed going through this text, keep it going this way. Good luck🤗
